Around 43,000 households will get their (Build-To-Order) BTOs at a later date due to construction delays from lack of manpower and supply chain disruptions.

There are currently 89 BTO projects ongoing, and 85% of them are behind schedule. This is according to the Ministry of National Development release on Monday, April 5.

So far, housing board has helped about 240 households with temporary rental home flats.

On Wednesday, Minister of National Development Desmond Lee said that Covid-19 is making it difficult to bring in workers, but HDB is trying to take action to keep the construction works ongoing.

These actions include less noisier construction activities to be done on Sundays and public holidays. There will be no compromise on safety and well-being of local and foreign workers as well as quality.

Help is being provided to home buyers with housing difficulties and no alternatives by HDB.
